TXRD is looking for women ages 21 and up to show their stuff on the banked track! Tryouts are at 2:30 p.m. on June 27 and 28 (you are only required to attend one of these sessions). Contact tryouts@txrd.com to sign up or to get more information.

HOT OFF THE PRESS - Bank Track Tournament June 20-21



Save the date, roller derby fanatics! This coming summer, the TXRD--Lonestar Rollergirls will host "Capital Punishment: Battle on the Bank II," a two-day invitational tournament where the fiercest roller derby leagues from across the nation will duke it out mano a mano in the sweltering Texas heat. This all-out interleague brawl will showcase the top roller derby stars in the U.S., attracting both ferocious banked-track leagues and merciless flat-track leagues who are itchin' to make their presence known on the bank.

When: June 20-21, 2009
Time: Doors at 2 pm
Cost: $25/day $40/event

THE LONESTAR ROLLERGIRLS
TXRD--Lonestar Rollergirls is a skater-owned and operated sports and entertainment company based in Austin, Texas. TXRD--Lonestar Rollergirls promotes friendship and competition between determined, beautiful, unique and, most of all, tough women. Founded in 2001 by She-E-Os Anya Jack, April Herman, Heather Burdick and Nancy Lynn, TXRD has captured the public's attention and has quickly become a Texas favorite. In 2003, TXRD purchased an original banked roller derby track and has since been providing derby fans with a new twist on the original style of roller derby. In 2005, our league participated in the filming of "Rollergirls," a 13-episode television show that aired on A&E and chronicled the lives of a few of our skaters, on and off the track.
