Flat Track Bouts, Holiday Parades, and Pudding Pie — Oh My

By TXRD Newsroom July 1, 2014

Whatever your plans for this holiday weekend, TXRD is bound to be involved somehow! We’ve got big plans in mind and want all our fans to have a ton of fun. We’re cookin’ it up, so bring yourself and dish up some!

Our very own little firecrackers will explode in the Delwood 2 neighborhood parade. If you are a member of this area, like some 4th of July celebrating, and love banked track roller derby, watch for your favorite Cherry Bomb to skate by. Then catch her at the brisket and pie judging later that afternoon. They will kick the festivities off at 8:30am and plan for the contest to wrap up at 12:30pm.

Our Putas Del Fuego are taking their show on the road. They’re headed to Corpus Christi to fire it up on the flat track. H.A.R.D. (Hurricane Alley Roller Derby) has invited them down for their annual summer-tastic brawl! If you’re down that way, stop in and show some support TXRD style! http://www.hurricanealleyrd.com/bout/its-bout-week-june-29-july-5/

What’s sticky-sweet, covered in bruises and hates to lose? A roller girl in a pudding wrestling competition, of course! TXRD and Safeplace are teaming up again for the 2nd annual 4th of July pudding wrestling. Be with us from 3-6pm at the White Horse to see the “Spider Monkeys” “My Little Pony” “Brick House” and “Aw Hell No” weight divisions whip up some fun! Celebrate America and drink specials provided by our favorite folks at Austin Eastciders!

Brisket and pie, pudding and cider, or hurricanes and mimosas, whatever pops your firework, spend it with your favorite derby girls! Happy Independence Day ~
