Holy Rollers vs Rhinestone Cowgirls Tomorrow!

By TXRD Newsroom September 19, 2016

It’s time to get your spurs sharp and your rosaries ready!

This Saturday, the southern-fried fillies take on the schoolyard bullies in plaid, and someone’s going to leave the Thunderdome in tears as their dreams for 2016 Calvello Cup playoffs are dashed.

The Rhinestone Cowgirls, this season’s underdogs, are up against the Holy Rollers in the last regular-season game for both teams. The Rhineys have been in a transitionary period this year, struggling with a roster largely comprised of talented but relatively green skaters and with their fierce captain Dusty Doublewide still benched with an injury. They come into this bout with nothing to lose, armed with a hunger to prove that they are still formidable despite their recent string of losses. If their strong showing against the undefeated (so far) Hellcats last month is any indication, this is going to be a very close bout.

Meanwhile, after a season of highs and lows, the stakes couldn’t be higher for the Holy Rollers. With one win and two losses under their belts, this match could be a huge factor in their chances of securing a spot in the playoff game. Their solid blocking core and team cohesion have made them a powerful threat, and they’ve ramped up their offense with Bombs-style wall-breaking right off the starting whistle, so you can expect some to see these schoolgirls deliver some heavy hits!
