Chicken Dinner
Born in Rochester, NY, where the winters "build character", this carpetbagger was run out of town after an altercation with a large woman in high school. He made his way to Austin via Tucson where he got his learnin' and found his Tennessee sweetheart. A serial gambler, Chicken Dinner earned his straight-shooter reputation as a techie entrepreneur putting it all on the line with one startup after another. While he can shoot straight, he is slow on the draw as he found in a recent duel with his future father-in-law. After taking a bullet in the bee-hind at 15 paces, Chicken agreed to marry the fair Jessica from Tennessee....and to work on his quick draw. Chicken and his gal arrived recently in Austin hearing promises of a league and labor of free land....if you become a TXRD referee. With high hopes of settling down, Chicken was recently inducted into that band of brave souls akin to the Texas Rangers, the Texas Referees. Chicken and his gal hope to get their land grant soon....Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!

Dax Wilphall
Dax Wilphall, son of Holy Roller preacher, youngest of 5, never found satisfaction in that life. Besides, those damn pews were hard. To please, Dax marched the straight and narrow. An honor student, his efforts were simply good cover for favorite pastimes: lighting Cherry Bombs in the teachers' lounge, and greasing the basketball court of the Hurtzhugh Hellcats before each game. After graduation he became roadie for a washtub band, the Rhinestone Cowgirls. On a band stop in Cowpen, South Dakota, in a Deliverance-like saloon, called The Ax Will Fall, Dax lost bad at the card game Killer. Money blown, running for life, he was rescued by a vintage Thunderbird auto club, the Putas del Fuego. Hellions, headed for Austin with Dax in tow, they discovered the roller derby revival. His dad always said, “That boy’ll be late for the resurrection." Dax just never knew his Papa was talking about the resurrection of derby. Looking back, life was always pointing him towards this time, this place, and TXRD.

Major Problem
Major Problem is actively raising an army of young derby soldiers in preparation for derby Armageddon! When these young Amazon Warriors reach adulthood they shall bring a wrath of destruction to the lawless and misguided world, as we know it today. These warriors on wheels will rule the lands from a tower built from the bones of their slain victims. They shall bring order to a world of confusion and false prophets and set right that which has been twisted and turned evil. Bow before them and be spared…
