MARCH 4TH BOUT RE-CAP - RHINESTONE COWGIRLS VS. HELLCATS

The TXRD crowd was in for another low-scoring, closely contested bout, this time with the Hellcats facing off against the Rhinestone Cowgirls.

After a close first half the Hellcats pulled away for a 42-23 win over the Rhinestone Cowgirls.

Dirty Blonde and Knottie Knoxville led the way for the Hellcats with 11 points each in the bout. Dixie Sanchez also had several successful jams, adding nine points to the Hellcats score. Also providing solid support for the Hellcats victory was Annie Afterparty with nine assists to her credit.

Emme Proper and Hottie Smoochalottie were the lead jammers for the Rhinestone Cowgirls, each scoring 10 points in the bout.

In the first jam, Dirty Blonde started the scoring, giving the Hellcats an initial 2-0 lead over the Rhinestones. Emme Proper tried to even thing out in the next jam, scoring 2 points for the Rhinestones, but Dirty Blonde scored another point, maintaining the Hellcats lead at 3-2.

Rollergazm tied the game in the next jam at 3-3, and called off the jam before the Hellcats could score any points. Hottie Smoochalottie and Knottie Knoxville faced off in the 4th jam. After breaking through some tough blocks Knoxville jumped ahead and called the jam, scoring three points for the Hellcats.

Betty Taroll and Purr anna faced off next with the Hellcats ahead 6-3 but after a fall by Taroll neither jammer managed to score.

After another scoreless jam, Dixie Sanchez was called for illegal blocking, and had to face off against Peachy Mean in a two-lap duel. As the two went at it, it was more fighting than skating. The Rhinestones lost the duel, keeping the score at 6-3 in favor of the Hellcats.

Dixie Sanchez faced Hottie Smoochalottie in the next jam, breaking out ahead of the pack and grabbing three more points, giving the Hellcats a 9-6 lead.

In the last jam of the first quarter, Knottie Knoxville ate hard rail. She recovered quickly, but the clock ran out, ending the first quarter with a scoreless jam for both teams.

Betty Taroll faced Knottie in the first jam of the second quarter. Taroll took a hard fall that took out most of the pack, alloowing Knottie to score two more points, bringing the Hellcats to an 11-6 lead.

After a successful run of jams, both teams scored points, but the Hellcats maintained their lead at 19-13. Towards the end of the second quarter, Dirty Blonde racked up another four points as Mustang Sally took a fall, extending the Hellcats lead to 23-12.

In the last jam of the first half, Dixie Sanchez scored three more points for the Hellcats, taking a big lead over Hottie Smoochalottie, and didn’t look back.

With the score at 25-12 at the top of the second half, the teams skated two scoreless jams before thigns got ugly as a fight broke out and Hottie was called for a major penalty.

The jam was re-skated with the Rhinestone Cowgirls competing one blocker short. Emme Proper got an early lead but ate rail, making room for Dirty Blonde to take the lead and extend the Hellcats lead to 30-15.

Fanny Smack of the Hellcats extended the lead to 33-19 after a close jam against Hottie. In the next jam, Ruby Sioux, now a Hellcat, scored three points against her former team with the help of some tough blocking from the rest of the Hellcats.

The Hellcats pulled away further as the combination of Dirty Blonde and Fanny Smack extended the Hellcats lead again, scoring the last points for their team this bout, bringing the score to 42-22. Emme Proper scored one last point for the Rhinestone Cowgirls at the end of the quarter, but the Hellcats took home a hard fought 43-23 victory.
